We’re off to Daytona Beach to celebrate the Fourth of July! Below is a lot of important information you need to understand. Please read carefully.
Supplemental Rules and Schedule – Please make sure you read the supplemental rules and event schedule found here. Updated 06/25.
Drivers Meeting – We will not be holding a driver’s meeting at the track. Please watch the virtual drivers meeting here.
Daytona COVID-19 Policy – Masks are required anytime you are inside a building or outside of your pit stall, garage, paddock area or RV spot. If you are with your social group in your pit stall, garage, paddock area or RV spot you are not required to wear a mask but if you are walking around you must have it on. If you cannot live with this please do not show up, these are the rules we’re going to have to follow to race next weekend. Whatever your thoughts are on this issue this is not the place to make your stand, so please follow Daytona’s policy so we can all have fun.
Gate – We will be using Gate 70 off Midway Ave. for load in all day Saturday (10 AM – 7 PM) and Sunday (5 AM – 1 PM) then it will switch to Gate 40 from 1 PM on. See map in the supplemental rules. Everyone must print off and sign all 4 (four) waivers found here. The waiver will need to be turned in at the gate where you will receive a wristband you must wear all weekend. You will then receive a temperature check every time you come through the gate. If you are 100 degrees or warmer you will have to undergo further screening to be allowed in the Speedway. Gate will be open 24/7.
Waivers – EVERYONE who enters the track must print off and bring all 4 (four) waivers with them to Gate 70 on Saturday between 10 AM – 7 PM or Sunday between 5 AM – 1 PM. You must show up to the gate during those hours with your 4 (four) waivers printed off and signed or you will not be allowed entry into the Speedway. You can print your waivers here.
Paddock and Garages – Click here for your garage assignments. If you have a garage you will NOT have a paddock parking spot inside of the blue garages. You will need to unpack your car and equipment as quickly as possible then you will drop your trailer in the trailer drop lot. If you do not have a garage you will receive a paddock spot in the blue garages. You will not have room to park your car beside the trailer, open any canopies, or use your slide outs. If you require more room you may set up in the overflow paddock. This will give all teams an opportunity to have a location close to pit road since we no longer have access to the yellow garages and paddock area. Please keep your personal vehicles out of the garage area. If it doesn’t fit in your garage or within the lines of your paddock spot then it must be parked in the support vehicle parking area. We still have a few garage spots available, contact me if you would like to reserve one.
Pit Assignments – Click here for your pit assignments. Pit Road will open at 5 AM on Sunday for set up. You will not be able to set up sooner than that. If something looks off please notify me, these will most likely change before next weekend.
Tech – We encourage you to participate in our Virtual Tech which will save you lots of time at the track. Please click here to schedule your appointment. Only one person may bring the car to tech. If you have gone through 2020 tech and have not made any changes you do not need to tech again. Bring all your paperwork filled out and make sure you have read the rules. Swapped cars with no paperwork will likely be put in EC. Tech opens at 1 PM on Saturday and will run until 6 PM. Decals will be handed out at tech and will be required to pass tech. Decal locations are shown in the BCCR appendix. Speaking of rules….
2020 BCCR – There were very few updates to the rules for 2020 compared to 2019, however the one most likely to catch people off guard if they haven’t read the rules is fire bottle certification. Make sure the fire bottle in your car has a certification sticker within the last two years or it is not legal for use. See 184.108.40.206. for detailed info. While you’re in there, it’s also a good time to make sure your seat belts and window net are still in spec as well. Download and READ the 2020 BCCR here. Also, make sure you look up your VPI here so there are no surprises in tech.
Transponders – If you entered a transponder number (or entered anything really) while you were registering we assume you’re bringing your own. Please verify that you have entered the correct number or that you reserved a transponder if you’re not supplying your own. If you use a subscription-based MyLaps X2 transponder, make sure your subscription is current. When your subscription ends, the X2 will not count laps! Want to make sure you mount your transponder correctly so your laps count? Click here
Registration – Make sure to tech first, then bring your yellow logbook and tech sheet signed by us directly to registration. Before you arrive, log in and check your driver roster for accuracy. Make any corrections ahead of time and make sure you are fully paid so we can keep registration moving quickly. If you are not coming (work issue, car issue, etc), email me to let me know you will not be there. Only one person from each team may go to registration.
New to ChampCar School – We will not be holding a New to ChampCar School at Daytona to avoid a gathering. Please check out the pre-recorded New to ChampCar School video here.
ChampCar.Live – If you will have your own live feed to YouTube, Facebook, or some other site, please share your feed with us by filling out the LiveFeed form at https://ChampCar.org/livefeed. You can share our live show with friends and family by using the www.ChampCar.live URL. That will take you to the ChampCar.live YouTube page.
