Q:
Our car has a transmission cooler built in to the stock radiator that we use to cool engine oil (example rad pictured - the two fittings at the bottom). We are considering going to an aluminum radiator since our rad died
1. Can we buy one with a similar built in trans/oil cooler and still meet the free aluminum rad rule?
2. Can we use the aluminum one but run a separate trans/oil cooler (much cheaper option) but understandable if not allowed?

A:
#1. Yes, you can buy an aluminum radiator with built in transmission cooler and meet the free aluminum radiator rule (if your car came with the transmission cooler on the OE radiator)
#2. No,  you cannot run a separate trans/oil cooler unless you claim appropriate points.
