Please reference the BCCR as most questions submitted to the TechDesk can be answered by reading the BCCR. You can download the BCCR here: https://champcar.org/web/rules.php
VPI requests require the year, make, model, trim level, engine size, engine HP, Drive type (FWD, RWD, AWD, 4x4), auto or manual transmission, car weight, and all options. Your request will not be answered if you do not include all of that information. You must use http://www.automobile-catalog.com for all of your information submitted. Include the link to the automobile catalog so we can quickly reference the data. If your car is not listed on that website, please link any website that has the info. If you do not include your research info above, your request will be denied.

2020-03-20 - Head Swaps

Q.
If I were to do a head swap, would the head be required to come off of a car on the VPI list?
Would I be allowed to use the stock header for the head for 0 points, or would I still have to use the stock header from the original engine? what would be the case if the original header does not fit the swapped head?

A.
When you pay the 100 points for a head swap, you can use any head you like. It does not need to be from a car on the VPI list.
Any OE exhaust manifold from the VPI list is zero points. Any aftermarket header is 25 points.
