As part of our review of the 2027 rule changes, we’ve identified several cars that need adjustments to their Vehicle Performance Index (VPI). We know these changes affect your plans for next season, and we want to give teams as much time as possible to prepare.
The following is our initial list of updates:
  1. 1984–1991 Chevrolet Corvette: VPI increases to 505. The listing with a minimum weight of 2,915 pounds will have a VPI of 480.
  2. 1997–1999 Porsche Boxster 2.5: VPI increases to 495.
  3. 2006–2014 Mazda MX-5 Miata (NC): VPI increases to 445.
  4. 2004–2009 Acura TSX: VPI increases to 450.
Honda Civic and CRX listing updates
The 1984–1991 Honda Civic and CRX listings will be separated into individual entries. Civic wagons will no longer be eligible. The following SPV changes also apply:
  1. 1988–1991 Honda Civic: SPV changes to 2,272.
  2. 1988–1991 Honda CRX: SPV changes to 2,059.
Our review is continuing, and additional changes are possible before the January 1, 2027 deadline. We’ll share further updates as they are finalized.
Thank you for your patience as we work through the 2027 updates, and for the time and effort you put into getting your cars ready to race.
