Every ChampCar race weekend depends on volunteers. Drivers see the green flag because people step up. Teams get checked in because people step up. Pit road stays organized because people step up. Safety, tech, registration, gear check, hospitality, and event flow all depend on reliable people who are willing to jump in and help.

Whether you are a racer, a crew member, a family member, a fan, or someone who wants to get closer to the sport, there is a place for you at ChampCar.

What volunteers help with

Volunteer jobs vary by event, track, and staffing needs. We will place volunteers where help is needed most.

Gear Check

Help verify driver gear and keep the safety check process moving.

Registration

Help teams check in, answer basic questions, and point people in the right direction.

Tech Inspection

Support the tech line and help teams move through inspection smoothly.

Pit Lane

Help with pit lane flow, safety reminders, and keeping the hot pit organized.

Hospitality

Help with lunches, staff support, competitor support, and race weekend logistics.

Event Support

Every race weekend has odd jobs, moving parts, and moments where an extra set of hands saves the day.

Volunteer compensation

Volunteers are appreciated, needed, and compensated. Payment type depends on the volunteer arrangement.

Hourly volunteer

$15/hr
Paid by check.

Single volunteer

$100/day
Paid in race credits to a personal account.

Two teammates

$600/weekend
Paid in race credits to a team account.

Four-person team

$1,500/weekend
Paid in race credits to a team account.

Lunch is provided for all volunteers. Volunteer opportunities are based on event needs and staffing levels.

How to get started

Complete the annual waiver The waiver only needs to be completed once per year.

Fill out the volunteer form Tell us which races you are interested in helping with.

Watch for confirmation Once volunteer needs are set in the staff schedule, volunteers are accepted on a first come, first used basis.

Show up ready to help Bring good shoes, a good attitude, and be ready to be part of the crew that makes race weekend happen.
